Adaptive learning adoption crossed 50% of US districts in Q4 2024 — a threshold most analysts had penciled in for 2027. The acceleration traces back to three converging forces: pandemic-era learning-loss funding still in flight, state-level AI-in-education mandates, and a generation of curriculum directors who piloted adaptive tools as classroom teachers and now hold the checkbook.
